# Product authors

> Returns the list of authors of a bibliographic product.

## Path parameters

**work\_id** `string` *required*

Product identifier. Example: `6ab4ac4e5418a51e324cc06a`.

## Query parameters

**view** `string` (default: full)

Level of detail. With `summary`, each author carries only `id`, `full_name`,
`type` and `affiliations`, and fields without data are left out.

The full author list is also in the `authors` field of [Get a product](https://help.impactu.colav.co/en/api-reference/work/get-work.md), which cuts it to 10 with `view=summary`. Product lists only carry the first 100: see [Product authors](https://help.impactu.colav.co/en/guides/authorship.md).

List of the product's authors.

**properties of each author**

**id** `string`

Author identifier.

**full\_name** `string`

Full name.

**first\_names** `string[]`

First names.

**last\_names** `string[]`

Last names.

**sex** `string`

Sex of the author.

**affiliations** `object[]`

Author's affiliations at the time of publication: `id`, `name`,
`types`, `addresses`, `external_ids`, `start_date`, `end_date`.

**external\_ids** `object[]`

External identifiers: ORCID, OpenAlex, etc.

**ranking** `object[]`

Author classifications (for example, from Minciencias).

**h\_index** `integer | null`

H-index.

**h5\_index** `integer | null`

H-index of the last 5 years.

**type** `string | null`

Role of the author in the product, when the source records it (for example,
in theses).

**countries** `string[] | null`

Countries associated with the author.

**meta** `object`

Query metadata, with the same shape as in lists: `count` and `size` are `1`,
`page` is `1`, `cursor.next` and `cursor.previous` are `null`, and
`db_response_time_ms` is the database response time.
