# Patent authors

> Returns the list of authors of a patent.

## Path parameters

**patent\_id** `string` *required*

Patent identifier. Example: `6ab847915418a51e32855aa6`.

## Query parameters

**view** `string` (default: full)

Level of detail. With `summary`, each author carries only `id`, `full_name`,
`type` and `affiliations`, and fields without data are left out.

The author list is also in the `authors` field of [Get a patent](https://help.impactu.colav.co/en/api-reference/patent/get-patent.md).

## Response

**data** `object[]`

List of the patent's authors. The structure of each author is the same as
in [Product authors](https://help.impactu.colav.co/en/api-reference/work/get-work-authors.md).

**meta** `object`

Query metadata, with the same shape as in lists: `count` and `size` are `1`,
`page` is `1`, `cursor.next` and `cursor.previous` are `null`, and
`db_response_time_ms` is the database response time.
